Oct 9 For the Love of Dogs

Our NEW Artisan Foods Showcase is growing and drawing more artisan food makers. Today we want to highlight one of our new makers. Sometimes what inspires us it what leads us to new beginnings and careers. We are thrilled to welcome Delightfully Delicious Dog Treats to the IndieMe Marketplace. Her story is like so many, we start in one place but life throws us a curveball and we make the journey to our true passions.

Laura burned the candle at both ends. She worked for General Electric as a Mechanical Field Engineer, traveling most of the year for about five years.
At age 33, the high stress led to a heart attack and Laura decided it was time for a change.
A lifelong animal lover, Laura knew that she would be happiest working for herself and the dogs she adored. Frustrated by the increasingly numerous dog treat and food recalls, she spent months crafting a business plan. Mandy, another friend from high school, joined the team as Vice President and in May 2014 Puppridge All Natural Treats was born as a women-run private label dog treat manufacturer.

”We’ve invested in commercial kitchen space and equipment to ensure our treats can be safely produced in large quantities. John built an industrial dehydrator for quality control and we are proud to moisture-test each batch of dog treats to ensure long shelf life.

In November 2014, we launched our own retail brand – Delightfully Delicious! Our brand name is registered with the NYS Department of Agriculture and can be found in several local retail locations including veterinary offices, groomers, farm and pet supply stores, and natural food stores.
We are proud to make and market all-natural oven-baked treats. We use all-natural ingredients; never any by-products, artificial preservatives, or flavors.

All ingredients are US sourced and our treats are made in our own bakery. We mix, bake, package, and ship from our own facility. When I’m not in the bakery I enjoy competing in dog sports with my 2 beagle mixes Jack and Leo. We compete in Agility, flyball, and lure coursing. My boys and I also enjoy hiking the local trails and swimming whenever we get the chance.”
