Be Online

Be Online

Digital trends are booming!

How can you use the digital world to help your business? The year 2022 has brought many things and not much of it great: Covid 19 still looming, supply chain issues, and inflation. As they say “this too shall pass” but while you are maneuvering through, take full advantage of the digital world that can help keep your business successful.

Automated Software

Are you a retailer? Is finding and keeping good staff a problem? We hear this a lot so now is the time to make sure to streamline and look into automating tasks by investing in automated software to fill in the staffing gaps. Some suggestions are monday.com, Scoro or Atera.

Expand your reach

As a retailer and a maker selling online are non-negotiable. Today, shoppers make 37% of their monthly retail purchases online. If you are a small brick-and-mortar store it is great to connect with your customers locally but you should extend your reach by selling online and maintaining a social media presence. The same goes for makers; you can attend local retail shows but also sell online and on a wholesale platform.

Social commerce is big

Many makers are selling on Instagram to launch their online stores and retailers are showing us what they carry in their stores through social media. Have you seen a retailer share a live video in their store to show you the new product they just put out? It keeps the customer up to date and invites them into the buyer’s store. This seems to be working as 43% of retailers who sells on social platforms say half or more of their revenue comes from social media! We see it every day, makers that sell wholesale on our platform are also selling retail on their social media platforms. We live in a digital world with people constantly looking at their phones and computers, so broaden your digital reach.

Get involved locally

If you are a small business you need your local community support. Participating in local events, donating supplies, or volunteering are all ways to support your local community. When you are involved in your community you are strengthening the relationship and the patrons of your town will feel loyalty and a desire to support your business. The saying “better together” holds true here.

Finally

As a retailer and a maker, you need to always be thinking and finding new ways to sell. Never be stagnant and always be willing to pivot if you have to. Find what fits your business and give customers what they need and want. When you are open to trying new things and making changes, you will see your business grow and your future will open to many new opportunities.
