Jul 13 Vintage gems, beads and more

Meet one of our new artists Retro Ruby Jewels!

I was born in New York. I have lived primarily in NY and Florida, with pit stops in MN & CA. I have been an artist most of my life. Earning a BA in Art, from Whittier College in CA. My love of art continues to play a dominant role in my career choices from the neon artist, to art teacher, visual merchandising regional manager, gallery owner, art consultant, part-time realtor, & “pop up” curator, wow. I have shown in galleries, in St Augustine, NYC, Jacksonville, Ormond Beach, Flagler Beach, and California.

Now most recently, I have evolved into a jewelry artist. This evolution started with using resin in my paintings. Flashback to the 1960s, my aunt made jewelry for her little gift shop, adjacent to her travel agency in New York. She traveled the world and was quite the independent woman when such a thing was not commonplace. When she passed she left boxes of vintage beads, semi-precious stones, crystals, gems, and various fun baubles.

My resin pendant creations are a combo of vintage & new inspiration. Creating the pendants has become a passion and a creative homage to my favorite Aunt Ruby. I have captured a bit of my aunt's 1960s nostalgia in my resin jewelry. Enjoy!
